To set the baseline for the environmental, social and financial sustainable development, iSea focuses on scientific research and already counts more than 50 publications in peer-reviewed scientific journals, reports, action plans and conference presentations. Briefly, the publications involve first records of marine alien species, such as Chaetodipterus faber (Broussonet, 1782) and endangered species, such as Squatina squatina (Linnaeus, 1758). They also concern research on the expansion of alien species in the Mediterranean Sea, the presence of endangered species, new occurrences of Angel Sharks in the Mediterranean Sea, citizen science and its contribution, data collected on Elasmobranchs in the Mediterranean and Black seas, international social surveys of public attitudes towards environmental issues.
